BrightTALK Channels

Establish a deep and positive relationship with your audience

Experience webcasting reinvented—with automated live webcasting and unlimited audiences. BrightTALK’s new patent-pending, self-service, live audio tool lets businesses engage their customers, allows media companies to address their audiences, and enables associations to reach their members in an entirely new way.

Creating, managing, and running a live webcast

Your BrightTALK Channel is where you go to conduct webcasts and where your audience goes to see them (live or previously recorded). BrightTALK Channels enable you to create, manage, and run live webcasts without technical assistance.

Establishing a channel is easy in our Create Webcasts section. Just give your channel a name, a description, and a few keyword tags (to help viewers find the channel) and you’re ready to begin creating webcasts.

Setting up your first webcast takes only a few minutes. Start by providing some details about the event, including the speaker’s name, topic, date and time, and some keyword tags. Then upload the presentation slides and, if you wish, create an audience poll for voting. Finally, if you are not the speaker, forward to the speaker the instructions we provide.

Next, let people know about your upcoming webcast. Email your audience a link to your unique channel page at brighttalk.com. Better yet, demonstrate that you are Web 2.0 savvy by embedding the channel into your website (we make it easy) and directing your audience there. You can also add webcast links to your homepage and promote your channel on other websites.

You and your presenter, if you have one, will receive an email reminding you to login to brighttalk.com 15 minutes before the webcast is scheduled to begin. You will also receive clear instructions for delivering your live webcast, including the dial-in telephone number. brighttalk.com coaches you through the count down and makes sure you are ready to go live on time.

As the event goes live, press Start Presenting to begin speaking to your audience. Our presenter’s screen lets you see questions from the audience, advance your slides, and conduct audience polls. When you’re finished, press Stop Presenting and the recorded webcast automatically becomes available in your channel archive.

Managing your Audience

Your only audience management task is directing people to your channel—BrightTALK Channels does the rest. Viewers will find your webcasts presented in an easy-to-understand format—including a list of scheduled webcasts, a featured next or previous webcast, and your entire webcast archive. There’s also a search tool to help audiences quickly find the content they want.

The first time an audience member visits your channel, he or she will register with the BrightTALK network (it’s quick and free) and subscribe to your channel. From then on they will access your webcasts simply by clicking the Attend or Play buttons. That’s it!
