  • In this session, we look at the issues with testing and audit. This is the base causes of why we fail to secure systems and how we can more effectively create methodologies that actually find flaws. Penetration tests and audit each have major failings, but when done correctly and with the right incentives, they can help make us more secure. When done poorly, we all suffer.
  • Zac Streelman, Manager, Information Technology at Leupold and Stevens was looking for a disaster recovery (DR) solution that would extend the flexibility of virtualization to his DR environment. The solution had to deliver enterprise-class support for his mission critical applications: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and SharePoint and various CAD programs. The board of directors was specifically asking what the current solution was and what service levels could the infrastructure deliver.

  • Organizations outsourcing card data to the cloud face significant security risks. As soon as an organization adds other players to the offsite card-management mix, ensuring compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard becomes increasingly challenging. Cloud users and cloud service providers need to understand what their roles and responsibilities are when it comes to protecting this data. Storing, processing and transmitting cardholder data in the cloud brings the cloud environment into scope for PCI-DSS.

Organizations need to know where their data is at all times. A lot of cloud clients have limited or no control over cardholder data storage. Organizations should be concerned about collecting and correlating access logs and other information from cloud vendors to ensure they are maintaining security compliance. Where's the data being stored? Is it stored in multiple locations? These are all things that you have to take into consideration when you're thinking about outsourcing to a cloud provider. Join this webcast as we address the compliance challanges in the cloud, and gain new insights on:

    - Emerging PCI security risks in the cloud

  • The need for security in an evolving industry – towards agile manufacturing Recorded: Mar 6 2013 63 mins
Manufacturing is changing in response to evolving customer demands and the constant pressure to reduce costs and improve productivity. Meeting these challenges requires organisations to embrace new flexible methods of working. This need for agility requires operational and enterprise IT systems to work closely together.
However, as systems interconnect, information security risks are also shared. Risks that may have previously been considered as non-critical increase in severity when systems become networked and interdependent. With the desire to implement new functionality, systems and infrastructure, the new risks that these developments entail may become overlooked.
Integrated manufacturing systems offer many opportunities for manufacturers, but also introduce risks that need to be correctly managed and addressed. This webcast analyses the challenges facing the manufacturing industry and recommends how organisations should secure their business.

  • State of Mobility Survey Recorded: Feb 21 2013 60 mins
    State of Mobility Survey
In the State of Mobility Survey Symantec surveyed 3,236 organizations from 29 countries with respondents from organizations ranging from small to large enterprises. The organizations surveyed fell into two broad categories: Traditional organizations and Innovator organizations. Perhaps the highest-level difference between innovators and traditionals is how they view change: Innovators see change as an opportunity, while traditionals view change as a risk.
As such, innovators welcome change and are early adopters of new technology. Given their view of change, they often seek out or even create change as they believe this will create opportunities for the organizations. Not so with traditionals, who will only change after a lengthy study of a new situation. Not surprisingly, innovators and traditionals approach mobility very differently.
Attend this webcast to learn how companies approach mobility and what this survey has discovered.
  • Banks likely to remain top cybercrime targets Recorded: Feb 14 2013 39 mins
The finance industry is constantly fighting cybercrime and, given the potential financial gain from a successful attack, this battle is likely to continue. However rigorous the security employed, exposure to new risks is inevitable. New technologies and services must be adopted to cope with competitive pressure and regulations must be complied with. Only by advancing the intelligence and analysis around attackers and their methods, can the industry hope to stay ahead.
Financial institutions have been fighting malware that targets online banking for over ten years. During that timeframe, banks have had to evolve their security measures to protect online transactions from fraud. Attackers adapted to these countermeasures and sophisticated banking Trojans began to emerge. In many situations financial institutions adopted custom security solutions. This resulted in a diverse set of security implementations. Many of these security implementations are ineffective at protecting against the modern banking Trojan. Cybercriminals motivated by financial reward are using these advanced Trojans to commit large scale financial fraud, targeting institutions across the globe.
This webcast examines eight of the most popular and sophisticated financial Trojans and gives financial organizations guidance how to protect themselves against them.
  • Mobility without vulnerability – Total Mobile Story by Symantec Recorded: Feb 7 2013 57 mins
    Mapping Mobile Adoption
Every company will have a different path to mobile adoption, and final implementations will vary, depending on the needs of various business functions and on regulations that impact mobile policies. A simple way to evaluate where a business is and where it wants to be is to look at devices in terms of who owns them, and to what degree they may be managed. The result is a 2X2 matrix, we will show in this webcast, which identifies the four different environments where one might find devices of any kind in business.
Organizations are gaining competitive advantages by enabling new mobile usage models for their workforces. But sensitive data and the devices that access them ¬– and their apps – still need protection and management. Symantec combines complete security and management, including integration of authentication and encryption. Solutions for enterprise mobility spans User & Application Access Management, Application & Data Protection, Device Management, Threat Protection and Secure File Sharing in one comprehensive portfolio, from one vendor. With Symantec O3™ technology, which layers mobile security as a service, you can provide your mobile users with secure cloud-based services that leverage your existing authentication services. Enable mobility without vulnerability using integrated solutions for enterprise mobility from Symantec.

  • Innovation through mobility: Harnessing the potential of Mobile & Banking Recorded: Jan 22 2013 62 mins
Mobile computing presents a fantastic opportunity to create a new channel to market and to innovate in a way traditional methods cannot support. It creates greater potential to interact with customers, leverage agility, and develop competitive advantage in an increasingly crowded marketplace. However, this potential needs to be viewed against the higher levels of risk that mobility in banking incurs above and beyond the PC world. As an added complication, these risks are not just external ones of new threats and non-compliance. There is also
a need to safeguard against the internal pitfalls of employees using mobile devices within the organisation.
Add into this mix the specific risks posed by social networks, mobile wallets and payments, bring your own device (BYOD) and cloud-based services and applications, and the complexity of the challenge is clear.
When embracing mobile computing, financial institutions need to consider a number of issues the webcast will address.
