As founder and CTO, Jared is architect of Tier 3’s Enterprise Cloud Platform. Wray founded Tier 3 in 2006 to address the emerging need for enterprise on-demand services and today oversees the development, support and operations of its enterprise-class cloud solution and is responsible for the company’s intellectual property strategy and new product development. Leveraging the tenets of virtualization automation, Wray designed the Tier 3 enterprise cloud to be an agile, self-optimizing platform for customers’ mission-critical, production applications. Wray relies on his extensive experience directly managing or consulting on scaling large Web infrastructures for companies such as Corbis Corporation, Ascentium, and Microsoft. A serial entrepreneur, Wray previously founded Dual, an interactive development firm with clients such as Microsoft and Nintendo.

Only a year old, the OpenStack project has already garnered tremendous momentum with more than 110 member companies. Originally founded by Rackspace Hosting and NASA, OpenStack has grown to be a global community of software developers all collaborating on a standard open-source cloud operating system that provides virtually unlimited scalability for developing cloud solutions. Previously Richard served as Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for KnowNow, a start-up delivering enterprise syndication technologies. Richard also served as Vice President of Products at AvantGo, a leading provider of mobile enterprise software, where he was responsible for determining product direction and strategy, as well as, overseeing engineering and product management. Prior to AvantGo, Richard served as Vice President of Engineering and Product Management for BEA Systems where he led efforts in developing the BEA WebLogic Portal. Richard has also held various executive management positions at SCO and Digital Equipment Corporation where he was instrumental in the creation of the X Window and Motif standards. Richard holds an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Vermont and a B.A. in Sociology from Alfred University.

Joe Onisick, Technical Solutions Architect for Systems Integrator World Wide Technology and founder of Define the Cloud. Joe is a data center architect with over twelve years’ experience in servers, storage virtualization and networks. Joe works for a systems integrator leading the analysis and adoption of emerging data center technologies and practices. Through his experience as a technology trainer, developer and consultant, Joe has been responsible for instructing, designing and deploying next generation data center technologies and converged infrastructures from product inception. Most recently, as the EMEA CTO for an international training and consulting firm he worked closely with vendors European channel partners to help customers design and deploy converged infrastructures to meet their rapidly changing business demands.
