  • Some of the challenges facing fixed income managers include cash and government bond yields remaining at lowest levels, coupled with inflationary threats and a potential increase in interest rates. Join Bryn Jones, Fund Manager of the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund on Tuesday 14 May at 11am as he discusses his strategy against this backdrop.

After surpassing the £100m milestone and producing the highest yield in the IMA Sterling Corporate Bond Sector (source: Financial Express), Bryn explains how he finds good opportunities, with a margin of safety, for your clients' portfolios.

The Fund enjoys first quartile performance across a number of periods (as at 30.04.13), and an attractive dividend history makes the Rathbone Ethical Bond Fund an excellent choice from both a yield and a total return basis.

  • A GLOBAL INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY ....AWAY FROM THE MAINSTREAM CORE GLOBAL FUNDS

With solid economic data coming through and improving investor sentiment James Thomson, manager of the highly rated Rathbone Global Opportunities Fund is taking the chance to reduce his cash weighting and buy into a number of strategic positions which play into his core investment themes.

To hear about these holdings and to gain an update on the portfolio and James’ current views, please register for our webcast.

  • With the search for income becoming increasingly challenging and the fear of inflation looming, an equity income investment proposition which boasts rising dividends in 20 of the last 21 years and maintaining a consistent low volatility should be an attractive offer.
Even more so when this is combined with consistently upper quartile returns and a host of independent recognition.

Hear how the Citywire rated investment managers of the Rathbone Blue chip Income and Growth Fund Julian Chillingworth and Alan Dobbie are delivering these rising dividends and risk adjusted returns as they outline their process, current investment views and discuss the focussed portfolio which they believe will maintain this impressive track record going forward.
  • With headwinds facing global markets and in particular Fixed Income, the value of a ‘forward looking’ and truly active Multi Asset Fund will really come to the fore in 2013.

Join David Coombs, Fund Manager of the award winning Rathbone Multi Asset Portfolios, in his live webcast on Thursday 14th February at 11.00am. David talks to us about how he achieves this within clearly defined and client appropriate risk parameters.

Put your questions to David in advance or during the call using the ‘questions’ tab at the top of the video screen.
  • As 2012 drew to a close, there was a clear improvement of sentiment towards the UK equity income sector. But, how well placed is this positive notion and what are the challenges for 2013?

The Rathbone Income Fund had a strong year returning 15%. Equally important, the volatility of these returns was relatively low versus its peer group. This is testimony to a strong, risk orientated investment process.

Join Carl Stick, Fund Manager of the Rathbone Income Fund in his live webcast on Tuesday 29th January at 11.00am as he gives a brief review of the last year and looks forward to the challenges in 2013.
  • We witnessed positive returns in 2012, but not without some surprises. We reflect on the last year to find out where these have come from, as well as looking at what the drivers may be to see a potential return to higher yields in the Fixed Income space.

Register now to join Julian Chillingworth, CIO of Rathbone Unit Trust Management, as he discusses where we see potential growth opportunities for 2013, and conversely why we should be mindful of treading with caution.

Are you rebalancing your client portfolios this year? With a shift in emphasis away from defensives, rotating more towards economically sensitive names, what considerations should you be mindful of?

Put your questions to Julian in advance or during the call using the ‘questions’ tab at the top of the video screen.
  • We have recently seen a rotation back into equity funds from corporate bonds, however, there remains a constant demand from clients for yield.

In July this year, the Rathbone Blue Chip Income and Growth Fund delivered a 3.2% increase in its annual dividend, the 20th increase of the last 21 years. In what has proved to be another volatile year for investors, the Fund is up 12.0% year to date. Over the three year period to the end of October, the Fund has managed to deliver both higher returns and lower volatility than the benchmark FTSE All-Share index (Source: Financial Express).

To hear how the managers are delivering outperformance, and relatively low volatility, join our live webcast at 11.00am on Tuesday 4th December. Julian Chillingworth and Alan Dobbie will explain how they select the best stocks for their focussed portfolio.

If you would like to submit a question during the live event, please use the ‘questions’ tab at the top of the video screen at any point during the webcast.
  • With the exception of China and Spain every equity market this year has posted positive returns as we bask in a global equity rally. So, does this mean all plain sailing ahead?

James Thomson, Fund Manager of the highly rated Rathbones Global Opportunities Fund is not so sure and feels this positive momentum belies wild under-currents and increasing negativity. This view would appear to be supported by the world’s leading strategists who in a recent poll decided their preferred weighting to equities was 41%, the lowest since the poll started in 1997.

So where is James finding value and how is he positioning his fund to combat the coming months and ensure investors capitalise on the opportunities that are presenting themselves whilst staying away from the areas which we believe will soon be coming back down?
