Data and Privacy Failures – Responding to a Crisis

At the heart of any discussion on data and privacy is the reason for implementing procedures and controls: to prevent a crisis. A data crisis can be manifest in several ways: failed access to data, corruption of the data integrity, or a breach in the privacy and confidentiality of the data. Each of these scenarios requires an effective crisis response plan, and the details will be different for each case. The crisis response plans will be effective only to the degree that advanced preparation considers the impact of the potential failure on business units and in business terms. In this web seminar, the differences between each of these data failures will be outlined, and a detailed discussion of best practices for effective crisis response will be presented. Best practices will consider technology architecture alternatives, operational procedures and controls, and the business impact of each type of failure.
