Voice Biometrics Update: Authentication at The Inflection Point
Momentum has started to build for voice biometric-based authentication. During the past six months, high-profile financial institutions, government agencies, health insurance underwriters and hosted service providers have integrated the technology into their phone-based, self-service and ID verification infrastructures. It can now confidently be called a “field-tested” technology. Yet the transition from trial to trusted mainstay in phone-based security has been uneven to say the least. While the underlying technology fits the need for a reliable, easy-to-integrate resource for ID proofing, caller authentication and transaction authorization, prospects in IT, security and customer care functions all must be convinced that biometric-based solutions have long-term viability, while addressing issues of usability, affordability and integration with existing IVR and security infrastructure. As part of the “Thought Leadership Series,” Opus Research and Nuance Communications provide insight into the current state of the voice biometrics market now that the debate is well-beyond “whether the technology works.” Highlighting current implementations and case studies, the webinar will discuss the metrics that define a successful campaign and the requirements for planning, installing and justifying the cost of the technology.
