Creating reliable proof in a digital environment

Evidence today is so easily manufactured, that without supporting proof the evidence is not capable of being relied on. Today this impacts merchants and those involved in digital transaction with legal impact directly. Electronic Business Systems today are now tasked to create proof that their data is meaningful, that it further represents the factual occurrence and is free from manipulation through the collection or storages processes it's gathered and supported by. This newly emerged requirement is a key one for PCI DSS, FFIEC, FINRA OATS and other federally and professionally regulated entities are tasked with complying to. This work-session then will explore the basis of creating reliable evidence models and the building of proofing for them across single and distributed digital network models and especially focus on section 10.4 compliance in the PCI DSS world as a prototype for other compliance efforts.
