Covert Surveillance and RIPA Update (Feb 2010)
An examination of the new Codes of Practice and Regulations relating to Part 2 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000. These relate to Directed Surveillance, Intrusive Surveillance and the deployment of a Covert Human Intelligence Source (CHIS). The new provisions come into force on 6th April 2010 and will lead to increased responsibilities for local authorities and others doing covert surveillance.
