MA Data Protection Law: Implementing a Compliance Solution
Qualifying enterprises need to act quickly to comply with Massachusetts’ new data protection law which came into effect March 1, 2010. Known formally as Standards for the Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth, the bill, among other things, requires disclosure in the event of a data breach involving any personal information of a citizen of Massachusetts and mandates very specific handling processes for this confidential information. Specifically, Massachusetts' 201 CMR 17.00 mandates "Encryption of all transmitted records and files containing personal information that will travel across public networks, and encryption of all data containing personal information to be transmitted wirelessly . . ." and "[e]ncryption of all personal information stored on laptops or other portable devices . . .". In this 30 minute webinar you will learn why PGP Corporation’s encryption solutions - Endpoint Protection, Email, File and Server protection - are designed to enable enterprises to easily and cost effectively comply with these kinds of regulations and requirements: - Enterprises can combine PGP Corporation's award winning end point protection products with the PGP UniversalTM Server; PGP UniversalTM Server manages security policy across multiple applications to defend sensitive data and help avoid the financial loss, legal ramifications, and brand damage resulting from a data breach; - Small businesses can get even broader protection from PGP® Whole Disk Encryption Workgroup Edition, and PGP® NetShare which also protects confidential information in shared storage; - Individuals can leverage PGP® Desktop Professional to provide comprehensive protection of email, files, laptop disks, and even IM chat sessions.
