Continuity of Operations versus Business Continuity
The core principle of Business Continuity Management is to ensure that the organization can meet its mission - to prepare for adversity and be ready for the misfortune of any crisis, allowing the organization to succeed where others might fail, and retain profit where others may experience loss. BCM is not a just a methodology or isolated science, it is a mindset and a culture. A lot is written these days about the alignment of Business Continuity with the mission of the organization, but this presentation will examine closely the perspective of how to ensure that the BCM program does not end up missing the key point of continuity of operations and building systems with resilience and the ability to withstand the pressures of production and potential failure.
