Effective January 1st, 2019, federal legislation will require all healthcare carriers offering the Medicare Cost plan to discontinue them in counties where at least two Medicare Advantage plans meet certain enrollment thresholds. Of the approximately 700,000 Cost plan enrollees nationwide, Minnesota has enrolled nearly 400,000 of them. Given those numbers, it’s clear to see why the Medicare Cost plan transition is having such an impact in Minnesota. Seniors will not have a lot of time to make decisions between now and when this transition goes into effect and depending on book size, agents will also have a challenge in “finding the time” to have these conversations with their clients. This webinar will provide a full overview of what the 2019 Medicare product landscape will look like when cost plans sunset. Agents in MN are used to enrolling their clients in Medicare Cost plans and this webinar will give agents the opportunity to revisit how they can and should assist their clients in choosing the most suitable plan options in 2019.
