So first and foremost, it's important to consider-- what even is "leadership"? There can be a lot of mixed associations with the word- as a formal position, or jockeying to be in charge.
We'll be basing our exploration on Brene Brown's definition of a leader, as "anyone who identifies the potential in people or systems and has the courage to develop that potential." In 2019, just being technically proficient or having the title is no longer enough. Leadership also speaks to a consistent attunement to the group, and a commitment to developing that.
Kristen Bush, Director of Student & Alumni Affairs at NYU's Graduate School of Public Health, has developed an expertise in counseling tomorrow's global leaders. And, in that and her own life, has been facing down some deep questions around the subject.
Join us for a vigorous and likely surprising exploration of what 2019-level leadership is, and is not.
