Most companies today have too many BI tools. Specific use cases drove the adoption of specialized tools; in addition, BI vendors helped stoke this debate with arguments over architecture. The relational vs OLAP wars of the late 1990's were a time a strident debate. Today, with the release of Oracle BI 11g, companies today can leverage best-of-breed ROLAP and MOLAP engines as well as powerful 11g architecture to bring the metadata, query definition, user management, security and systems management. Come learn how Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition 11g and Oracle Essbase work better together to meet the modern BI needs of the enterprise.

  • As organizations continue to recognize the advantages of self-service analytics and data discovery they are evaluating alternatives to legacy Business Intelligence environments. To better understand this process, Blue Hill Research conducted a dedicated study to understand how users evaluate TIBCO Spotfire in comparison to other tools and how TIBCO Spotfire impacts their organization.

Blue Hill Research analyzed the experiences of 131 current TIBCO Spotfire customers to evaluate how they use TIBCO Spotfire and how they rate their experience. Among a number of areas, Blue Hill Research investigated:

    · TIBCO Spotfire’s ease of use in comparison to other solutions

    · The time-to-value associated with choosing TIBCO Spotfire

    · The most common use cases for TIBCO Spotfire

Join Principal Analyst James Haight from Blue Hill Research as he discusses the findings of his research initiative into deconstructing how and why organizations are choosing TIBCO Spotfire. For those considering an investment in TIBCO Spotfire this webinar will discuss how TIBCO Spotfire is typically rated and used. For existing TIBCO Spotfire users, this webinar presents an opportunity to see how your experience compares to that of peer organizations.

Registrants will receive a complimentary copy of Blue Hill Research’s TIBCO Spotfire User Experience Analysis Benchmark Report

  • Data visualization is a powerful technology but it's a means to an end and not a goal by itself. Its main purpose is to enable more people to gain faster insights from data. One way to accelerate this time to insight is to design better, more efficient visualizations. Design guidelines remain an always popular topic for data visualization talks because most data analysis applications require users to spend a significant amount of time turning knobs to get to the output they need.

Alternatively, we suggest a design approach that focuses on meeting users' analysis needs, while minimizing their time to insight. In this session, join IBM's data visualization specialist Frank van Ham as he illustrates the effectiveness of guided visual analytics on different types of data.
  • Data visualization is one thing, but communicating your message effectively is another. Using narratives, and stories, is a key way to add structure, messages and conclusions to the insights you discover. In this seminar, Andy Cotgreave will outline why stories are so important in data communication. He will look at 7 different types of data story, and conclude by looking at some of the trends in storytelling. In order to enhance his own story, expect lots of examples from industry and data journalism!
  • BI solutions should use infographics — graphic visual representations of information — to present complex information quickly, clearly and in a ‘business story’ every businessperson can understand.
  • In the past two decades, visualization has become a language adopted not just by scientists and statisticians, but by journalists, designers, and the public in general. This process has been enabled by an increasing variety of software tools that are sophisticated, easy to use and, in many cases, free. However, knowledge of elementary principles of information presentation has not progressed at the same pace.

This webinar will provide an overview of these principles. You will learn:

-How to create charts and maps that don't mislead
-How to choose appropriate graphic forms to represent your information
-How to arrange your graphics to build compelling narratives
  • When we think of data visualisation and visual analytics we mostly think about 2D graphs and displays. But gaming and other graphics technology is making the creation of immersive 3D data visualisations a reality - either on ordinary PC screens or using VR headsets such as Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard.

This webinar will look at what immersive 3D data visualisation is, now if differs from "non-immersive" 3D, the potential benefits it can offer over 2D, and the potential issues of 3D visualisation.
  • Do you want to learn about new disaster recovery options from Microsoft experts? Have you been putting off trying new technology due to time pressures or not knowing where to start? Do you think your disaster recovery strategy would benefit from a refresh?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to register for this webcast. You will learn:
•How to replicate any workloads to Microsoft's global datacenters
•How to back up data and protect workloads with nearly infinite scalability
•How to implement a hybrid replication using both cloud and on-premises solutions
•How to create a backup without needing to buy more tape
•How to back up your Windows clients (including Windows 10) to remote storage
