    2. Evolve IT into as a service
    3. Constantly improve Efficiency

But, even common and simple challenges in the data center take too much time to resolve effectively and IT is often too involved in fighting fires than expanding.

Flash storage can be a solution to this, but traditional and recent flash models have been little more than a "band-aid" for critical applications.

With more need than ever to spend time on innovation, join Adrian Clarke from Pure Storage as he looks at the Next Generation of Flash storage, how it can deliver a better economy and what simple changes can be made in your infrastructure to help you accelerate your business.
  • Layered Security Infrastructure: Enterprise Case Studies Recorded: Apr 29 2015 36 mins
Icaro Vazquez, Senior Product Line Manager, Security
As bad actors relentlessly continue to take advantage of the many innovations and trends in our current world, network security professionals are realizing that the passive mode of checking for threats is no longer adequate. As BYOD is now the norm rather than the exception in the corporate world and most organizations have a significant presence in the cloud, bad actors are more than happy to take advantage of the new conduits into the corporate network. Therefore, the need to catch, repair and eliminate security threats as early as possible has never been greater. With this in mind, VSS Monitoring has been helping various enterprise customers to deploy an inline layered security infrastructure that provides multiple lines of defense against the bad actors.

This webinar will present some of the use cases we have been involved in, what were the motivations that led to the deployment of layered security and how a layered security architecture, anchored by VSS Monitoring, allowed enterprises to become more nimble in their never ending fight against bad actors. Join us for a safari tour of an exciting and evolving space!

  • Transform the Data Center with Software-Defined Storage Recorded: Apr 29 2015 42 mins
George Hamilton, Senior Manager, Product Marketing, Emerging Technologies Division
The modern data center needs to support both traditional business applications and a host of new mobile, cloud, big data and social media applications. To support such diversity, data centers must deliver a wide variety of data services and access methods. To meet these needs, organizations rely on a variety of storage platforms from multiple vendors; each suited for particular application workloads. This diversity results in complexity and high operational costs that inhibit an organization’s ability to invest in new infrastructure to support modern applications and services.

Software-defined Storage is much more than marketing buzz. Software-defined storage transforms today’s complex storage environments into simple, extensible and open platforms that are more agile and responsive to business users, developers and customers. SDS also delivers modern storage and data services as software-based services that can leverage existing infrastructure or commodity platforms to radically change storage economics and provide a clear path to the cloud.

Join us to discover how you can use SDS to shift resources from repetitive, manual administrative tasks to innovative new data services that give you a competitive advantage.
  • Are you managing your data center or is it managing you? Recorded: Apr 29 2015 28 mins
Soeren Schroeder, Vice President, UK/Ireland & Nordics/Baltics, FNT
Energy efficiency is the top strategic goal for data center operators for a number of reasons. Many indicators and metrics are available to help manage data centers from an energy perspective. However, energy efficiency is just one way of looking at a data center:

Data center service providers, like enterprise data centers, colocation providers and others, find themselves in a challenging and fast-changing competitive environment. Focusing only on efficiency in the data center is like driving a car at its optimal motor efficiency without taking care whether being on the best way to your destination. Other influences towards the data center have to be taken into account such as transparency over all data center assets, delivering the expected service quality and having the right metrics in place to run your data center successfully.

In this webcast Soeren Schroeder showcases in an integrated approach; 3 ways to run your data center infrastructure successfully by also utilizing the concept of the Data Center Business Value Dashboards to implement and measure strategies for successful data center operation.

Backup appliances vendors promise more confidence to IT professionals and a reduced total cost of ownership via all-in-one solutions. Backup software vendors promise a low initial purchase price and say that their offerings are “easy to use” using shrink-wrapped software. The problem? All the vendors seem to be hopelessly biased toward whatever they are selling.

Join Unitrends – which uniquely offers all-in-one physical backup appliances and virtual backup appliances as well as other data protection software – for an irreverent, unbiased review of how you can make the best decisions not only for your company – but for you personally.

  • The Data Fabric Transforming the Datacentre Recorded: Apr 29 2015 44 mins
Laurence James, NEMEA Product Alliances and Solutions, NetApp
According to IDC, in the next two years, over 60% of companies will stop managing most of their IT infrastructure, relying on advanced automation and qualified partners to boost efficiency and directly tie datacenter spend to business value. In 2015 and beyond Cloud and Software Defined approaches will therefore continue to shift IT purchasing models. While the adoption of new business models continues at pace, the demand for storage will grow. This places broader pressures on IT Managers to manage their resources and budgets more effectively. The requirement for consistent Data Management supporting Data Governance and Stewardship will be a mandatory requirement in these Cloud and Software Defined migration Strategies. The need for a single, consistent, coherent data management process and methodology will be foundational, underpinning the concept of the Data Fabric enabled by Clustered Data ONTAP

Join Laurence James as he discusses how Data Fabric could present the most powerful solution and demonstrates that while the standard model for IT provisioning and management is going through a revolution, the requirement for strong data management in a hybrid IT world will be paramount .
