When it comes to equity in workplace culture, diversity and inclusion often becomes an afterthought, not an ongoing process. But when "diversity" is seen as a separate area, series of trainings, or additional touch on recruiting materials rather than something that is embedded into all areas of an organization, the efforts will not be successful. This workshop will examine and discuss recent, major failed attempts at being more inclusive that resulted in isolation and tokenization as well as give practical steps at building a more welcoming environment.
