For an industrial manufacturer, each product is essentially a project. This is sometimes referred to as Project Manufacturing. The ability to define the product/project and break it into sub-projects, allocate and manage internal and external resources, estimate and capture costs, create an accurate BOM, and to proactively deliver the project on time and on budget, can be a daunting process.
