IPX: An Infrastructure for Networks of Today and Tomorrow

William Dudley, Group Director, Product Management
As networks move towards "4th Generation" or all-IP networks, connectivity between networks and interoperability of data between networks becomes paramount for a ubiquitous mobile and connected device ecosystem. In the legacy world, this was done via a global SS7 cloud; however, for 4G and beyond, it is envisioned that IPX (IP eXchange) networks will replace SS7 as the primary "network of networks." This webinar will go in depth and discuss the following:

•How IPX services can provide a variety of functions for today's 3G and fixed operators as well as trusted enterprises.
•The variety of solutions today and more tomorrow as services evolve across the telecom ecosystem.
•How soon this evolution will take place and the challenges and opportunities it presents along the way.

  • Everyday consumers assume that when making a purchase, online or in-store, their card data is handed off to a trusted source, with security in place to protect them. However protecting these transactions and the retail payment ecosystem has become increasingly complex, with recent data breaches of large retailers testament to the vulnerabilities.

In addition, compliance with PCI DSS fails to address some of these vulnerabilities resulting in potential exploitation with disastrous consequences. To address these security gaps the scope of security needs extending from the merchant, acquirer, switch and bank or card issuers to include the manufacturers of payment terminals at the point of sale and developers of payment application software.

Join your fellow professionals to understand how by using Point-to-Point Encryption, card data is encrypted from the earliest possible moment of its capture, and ensures that data remains in an encrypted state consistently until it arrives at the payment gateway.

Then understand why many merchants are considering P2PE not only to secure vulnerabilities, but also because it can effectively remove some of the merchant’s own security infrastructures from the scope of compliance with regulations such as PCI DSS. Lastly understand why encryption is only as secure as the encryption keys as when cryptography is used to protect valued data, the risk is transferred from the data to the keys.

  • *On this webcast we're giving away a pass to our partner event: the Chicago Cyber Incident Response Summit, between June 21-23, 2014*

Let’s face it, there’s unrelenting pressure on IT to enable competitive advantage through new technology and use of data assets‒-but the business is driving initiatives that can push sensitive production data into more and more exposed areas. The key question is ‘How can you enable the business to be agile AND take a more proactive, programmatic approach to security at the same time?’ With the advanced threats that are pervasive today, it’s becoming increasingly dangerous for organizations to deploy new technologies and processes, and then reactively address the implications for data security in the ecosystem. You need a blueprint to reverse this trend in your organization.

In this webinar, William Stewart, Senior Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton and Jeff Lunglhofer, Principal of Booz Allen Hamilton–a leading management technology and consulting firm driving strategic innovation for clients–will discuss the top trends in cyber threat mitigation, data privacy, data governance, and data security, with Mark Bower, VP Product Management and Solutions Architecture at Voltage Security.

Attend this webinar to learn more about how to:
•Increase responsiveness and security in your IT environment and architecture
•Fight pervasive threats from inside and outside attack with data-centric technologies
•Raise your organization’s overall data privacy, compliance, and security profile
•Implement a new data de-identification framework across production, test & dev, and analytics use cases
    •Proactively enable critical business initiatives

  • Leveraging the IPX Cloud for Mobile Services Recorded: Apr 17 2013 41 mins
Mobile services must be ubiquitous meaning they should be available anywhere and able to communicate across service providers as well as country boundaries. A concept called IPX or IP eXchange is a global interworking and interconnection cloud that enables a wide variety of services – especially for today’s increasingly IP ecosystem. While the direct beneficiaries are Mobile Network Operators, the IPX will also benefit fixed and OTT service providers as well as Enterprises and of course, ultimately the subscribers or end users.

    This webinar will:
    - Provide an overview of the IPX
    - Show how the IPX is used today
    - Explain IPX benefits to both Mobile Network Operators and other Service Providers
    - Explain how IPX will evolve going forward to encompass a variety of new services
  • Overcoming Showroom Syndrome: Using Mobile to Bring Consumers back into Stores Recorded: Sep 20 2012 52 mins
Overcoming Showroom Syndrome: Using the Mobile Channel to Bring Consumers back to Traditional Brick and Mortar Retail

Showroom Syndrome is when consumers browse products in brick and mortar retail locations and purchase those items online. In the past few years, this "syndrome" has helped lead to the demise of many well-known chains. Retailers not adapting to today’s new marketplace are doomed to repeat many of the same mistakes their out-of-business predecessors made.

The mobile channel provides an increasingly powerful set of tools that can bring consumers back into brick and mortar stores. The right mix of products, a continuous engagement cycle, leveraging loyalty, coupons and other tactics will enable enterprises to learn and understand consumer behaviors and in turn shape consumer experiences. This will require a multi-channel, multi-faceted mobile strategy that will promote consumers to purchase products in brick and mortar locations, as opposed to purchasing online.

  • Getting Your Brand Into Consumers' Hand Has Never Been Easier Recorded: Nov 3 2010 60 mins
The mobile revolution is about the ability to access data regardless of when, how or where you need it, but going mobile with customer relationship management is much more than convenience. It's about bottom line impact by engaging the end customer in a timely and relevant way.

Retail and brand owners are becoming aware that the use of mobile in a piecemeal fashion with no real follow up or ongoing dialogue with customers, and little tie-in to larger in-store loyalty schemes do not yield desired results. Many are increasingly shifting to a more ‘personal relationship management’ approach with their campaigns, which looks at using the mobile channel to create ongoing relationships with consumers, tying existing campaigns and mobile loyalty programs together and using analytics to measure and improve interactions with customers.

In fact, getting your Brand into the consumers’ hands has never been easier.

In this installment of the Sybase 365 Webinar Series, our panel of industry experts will present changing trends in the use of mobile in marketing, showcasing regional and global case studies; have an in-depth discussion on ways to build a value-added ‘go to market’ mobile strategy; and most importantly, how to engage your customers in a ‘personal relationship’ with your brand via the mobile channel.
