In the private sector, customer satisfaction is a hallmark and requisite for business success. Meanwhile the federal government, despite having the largest customer base in the country serving millions of American citizens everyday, had traditionally focused its efforts on ensuring the mission success rather than customer satisfaction. A majority of citizens are dissatisfied with how well the government works, frequently citing a lack of trust between the government and public, difficulty in seeking relevant services or information from federal agencies delivered on their own terms and a slew of other complaints that could be addressed through improved customer service. How can the government influence customer-focused change within their organizations and boost citizen satisfaction in the services they provide while continuing to meet mission needs.
At Government Executive and Nextgov's 2017 Customer Experience Summit, we'll explore the strategies and success stories behind citizen-centric government. Through case studies and conversations with those in government and industry, we'll learn why focusing on what matters to citizens can make your agency more efficient, effective and prepared to achieve mission success.

IDEA was passed in 1975 making schools national leaders in providing equal services for the disabled community. However, today, over 40 years after its passage, school transportation providers are still consistently struggling to safely transport some students with disabilities and to secure the most difficult mobility devices. While wheelchair securement equipment has improved dramatically during this timeframe, there are still thousands of wheelchairs on the market which aren’t designed to be transported. This presentation will review basic mobility device securement principles and discuss trouble shooting practices for situations where achieving those principles is difficult or even impossible. Finally, we will review some significant advancements in securement equipment, wheelchairs, and regulation that have the long term potential to alleviate these securement difficulties.

Take up of SPL is building slowly but it is still low. If we are serious about unleashing the economic potential of women, then it’s not enough just to look at women as leaders. It also needs to be OK for men to be carers. Take up of SPL is therefore a key indicator. And one that enlightened employers have already understood is VITAL to their gender diversity aims.
In 2017 My Family Care and the Women’s Business Council are working together in a best practice and research partnership. The qualitative approach is aimed at understanding not only WHY take-up is still relatively low, but to HOW SPL is being used by fathers and partners, WHAT impact it has had on their lives and careers as well as WHAT needs to be done to improve take up.
In this webinar we’ll be sharing our findings and inviting leading employer panellists to comment on the experiences within their organisations.
On average, women hold 47% of entry-level jobs. In tech, this number is significantly lower - only 37% of the entry-level jobs are offered to women. How do we recruit more women in tech, and once they are on a tech career path, how do we retain them?
During this talk, Brenda Piazza will share her 25+ years of experience as woman in technology, her challenges in being in a male dominant leadership position, overcoming obstacles, achieving success, and finding ways to recruit and retain more talented technology women in your organization.
There are a lot of factors that play into choosing a career path. From the region you live in, to social upbringing, access to education and more, navigating your way through a career path can be tricky to say the least.
Oftentimes there is a certain stigma behind pivoting your career path, especially if you are already mid-career. A lot of companies are hiring millennials, so it can be tough to get interviews, find time to learn a new skill, get certified in something, and so on. As a woman, these obstacles can be even more challenging.
We've put together a panel of experts to address these particular issues, as well as provide best practices and tips on pivoting your career, carving out your own professional path, and choosing traditional or nontraditional careers as a woman in tech.
Join Jessica Naziri, Founder of TechSesh, Pattie Grimm, Author, Speaker, Trainer and Coach, Michelle Glauser, CEO & Founder of Techtonica, also named one of LinkedIn's top 10 professionals 35 and under in software, and Marie Perruchet, Author of One Perfect Pitch, Speaker and Consultant.

When recruiting people do you look for skills or potential? Talent is something that needs to be honed and continually developed and skills can always be learnt and improved. In an ever changing world organisations need people who can be flexible, continually learn and are able to take new ideas forward quickly. In short attracting people with a growth mindset and therefore learning potential will ensure your organisation is future fit. But even that’s not enough, you need to stand out against other companies as the place to work, a place where people will not only grow but be happy too.
Entrepreneurs contribute significantly to the world economy; the new businesses they create can drive innovation and will often result in the formation of new jobs. Yet almost 60% of UK businesses will fail within 5 years. If entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs are aware of these, it can give them a head start.
John Hackston, Head of Thought Leadership at OPP, will present the results of the research, showing how MBTI type relates to your entrepreneurial orientation, and sharing tools for you to work out just how entrepreneurial your own (or your client’s) organisation is. He will also illustrate the likely strengths of each type as an entrepreneur – and things that they should watch out for.
In this webinar, you will learn about:
-The cost associated with Disengaged Employees

As a professor in a STEM career path, programming, I frequently ask my female student “How did you become interested in this career?” The answer seems to center on one fact – “My parents exposed me to computers when I was younger. As I became more and more interested they helped me understand there was a career in this.”
This early introduction to computer helps my female students overcome another observation I had made – girls feel like boys have been ‘engineering’ or ‘coding’ for a long time.
The stereotypical comment “Boys play with Legos and robots, and girls play with dolls and tea sets,” this seems to support this observation.
So, how do we address the lack of females entering into STEM careers? I propose we start at home.
This webinar addresses some of the obstacles we must overcome with regards to leveling the playing field between girls entering STEM and boys.
