Development of Cell-Based Assays to Test Compound Responses

Manage webcast
David Randle, Ph.D.
This webinar will provide an overview of the important optimization steps to be taken into consideration when developing a cell-based assay to test the effects of chemical compounds. Consideration will be given to assay formats ranging from single molecule evaluations all the way through to high-throughput screening of libraries comprising a million compounds or more. The material is intended to serve as an introduction to cell-based assays, and is intended for those with little or no experience in the field.

Topics to be covered include: considerations when choosing a model cell line; understanding optimal cell culture conditions; use of fresh vs. cryopreserved cells; importance of the microplate in cell-based assays; overview of assay formats covering traditional "label-dependent" and newer label-free assays.
