An increasing number of health sciences companies are using social networking and social CRM to reach out to diverse stake-holder groups such as health care professionals, collaboration partners, patients and consumers. While social networking provides an opportunity for engaging stakeholders in a two-way dialogue, regulations nevertheless constrain the content of those conversations. While pharmaceutical companies are starting to leverage social media and benefit from greater interaction with their stakeholders, the medical devices sector is seen as lagging behind.
