    • Transforming Your Business with Fast Data – Five Use Case Examples Transforming Your Business with Fast Data – Five Use Case Examples Ryan Betts, CTO, VoltDB Recorded: Dec 15 2015 2:00 pm UTC 59 mins
    • Data is moving at blinding speeds, generated by a wide range of sources – from mobile phones and sensors to a variety of connected “smart” devices. This data, most valuable the moment it arrives, will continue to increase in both volume and variety.
Employing a solution that handles streaming data, provides state, ensures durability, and supports transactions and real-time decisions is key to benefitting from fast data.
But don’t take our word for it. During this webinar, Ryan Betts will address five data management pain points VoltDB solves by highlighting real customers with real, in-production solutions.
You will learn how five customers transformed their business with VoltDB:
•Ad tech data counting and tracking
•Content analytics for a global CDN
•Financial market data latency reduction and regulatory compliance
•Online game sessionization, player profiling and monetization
•Mobile network subscriber personalization, and ad delivery

    • Is Your Cybersecurity Strategy Ready for the Post-Infrastructure Era? Is Your Cybersecurity Strategy Ready for the Post-Infrastructure Era? Gartner Research VP Peter Firstbrook and Proofpoint SVP of Cybersecurity Strategy Ryan Kalember Recorded: Dec 3 2015 6:00 pm UTC 62 mins
    • According to Gartner, organizations spend over 80% of their security product dollars on their networks and their endpoints. However, these spending priorities are increasingly at odds with the threat landscape: it’s been over a decade since network perimeter was declared dead, and with the advent of mobility and BYOD, endpoint security has become both more challenging and less relevant to stopping today’s threats. Advanced threats no longer target networks, servers or endpoints: they target users, the data they have access to, and the transactions they facilitate.

Join Gartner Research VP Peter Firstbrook and Proofpoint SVP of Cybersecurity Strategy Ryan Kalember as they discuss how organizations can better position themselves to defend against advanced threats as they adjust to the cloud-enabled, mobile-friendly, and socially networked way their users work today.

      Join this webinar to learn:
      • The key stages in the evolution of a post-infrastructure approach to security
      • Strategies and tactics for dealing with post-infrastructure security challenges, from technologies to
      • Case studies in post-infrastructure threats, illustrated by cloud email, social media and mobile apps

    • How to Build RealTime Streaming Analytics with In-memory, Scale-out SQL Database How to Build RealTime Streaming Analytics with In-memory, Scale-out SQL Database Ryan Betts, CTO, VoltDB Recorded: Jul 16 2015 3:00 pm UTC 44 mins
    • Fast data applications are growing rapidly – driven by the adoption of IoT, M2M and SaaS platforms. While there’s general recognition that fast streaming data applications can produce significant yet fundamentally different values than Big Data applications, it’s not yet clear what technologies and approaches should be used to derive the value from these fast data streams. Building applications on real-time streaming data has unique requirements. Legacy databases get overwhelmed. A common solution is stitching together a collection of open source projects; however this has a steep learning curve, adds complexity and limits performance and latency.

So how do you combine real-time analytics with real-time decisions in an architecture that's reliable, scalable and simple? The answer is a scale out, in-memory database, that’s fast enough (< 1 millisecond) to support per-event transactions. In addition, a platform that supports streaming aggregation combined with per-event ACID processing and SQL, simplifies development and enhances performance and capability. VoltDB uses materialized views to provide real-time aggregation and summary and support combining real-time analytics with per-event decisions. The basis is SQL, which is used to query and re-aggregate views; and up-to-date views can be queried inside of transactions for per-event, real-time transactions.

In this webinar Ryan Betts, CTO at VoltDB, will explain:
      • Why streaming aggregation is a key to streaming analytics
      • How SQL can be used in combination with streaming aggregation
      • The benefits of up-to-date analytics for per-event transactions and insights
