 al issuance of green bonds and loans, as well as other types of sustai
 nable debt, totaled $465 billion in 2019, up 78% from $261 billion in 
 2018, according to data compiled by BloombergNEF. The outstanding glob
 al volume of sustainable debt now exceeds $1 trillion. \n\nGreen bonds
 , where the proceeds are used for environmentally-friendly projects, m
 ade up the majority of the issuance last year, totaling $271 billion, 
 the data show. Sustainability-linked loans, which often have interest 
 rates linked to a borrower’s performance on environmental, social or g
