About this talk

The Energy Security Strategy recently set out how the UK intends to significantly grow the hydrogen economy with a new 10GW hydrogen production target for 2030. The target could herald the beginning of the biggest change in Britain’s energy system since the growth of North Sea oil and gas extraction in the early 1970’s. With zero emissions at the point of use, hydrogen can play a major role in the decarbonisation of heat, power and transport, and provide large-scale and long-term energy storage. Mark Tarry, Head of Asset Development at AMP Clean Energy, will explore the options for the rapid scale up of hydrogen and will focus on how businesses can develop hydrogen-ready infrastructure and practices. Speaker: Mark Tarry, Head of Asset Development and Main Board Member at AMP Clean Energy Mark heads up AMP Clean Energy’s Asset Development team which is focused on developing and delivering projects which deliver flexibility in front of the meter and energy directly to customers behind the meter. To date, the team has developed over 80MW of heat led assets and over 250MW of reserve power projects. Mark was AMP Clean Energy’s CFO between 2014-2021 and has been part of the senior management team which has led the business since its IPO in 2014 and its take private by Asterion in 2020. A member of the REA’s Hydrogen/Green Gas Steering Group, Mark supports businesses to adopt hydrogen ready infrastructure and practices.
