This webinar is about how existing universities successfully improved their global recognition, attracted more funding and have risen in rankings. We will introduce case studies and talk about “balanced” research quality management concept, strategies and approaches.
The local and global research ‘ecosystems’ are getting increasingly competitive. Governments and funders push for results to provide funding, which creates significant rivalry and competition in research. Research institutions all around the world – if they like it or not – have to more pro-actively manage for improving quality, relevance and impact of their research to achieve visibility, get more funding and higher positions in rankings.
Research management concepts vary, depending on an institution’s culture. There is no jack-of-all-trades. Experience shows that data-driven, well-balanced and research-field-sensitive Research Quality Management seems to work. This approach aligns researchers’ work with the institution’s strategic goals, and at the same time does not ‘choke’ creativity by continuous laborious assessments and micro management.
