Embracing the Use of Contemporary Troponin Assays in the Emergency Department

Presented by

Dr. Phillip Levy, Associate Director of Clinical Research, Wayne State University Department of Emergency

About this talk

This webinar will discuss how contemporary cardiac troponin assays are used for diagnosis of Myocardial Infarction (MI), the dynamics between MI rule-in, early MI rule-out, and causes of elevated troponin other than MI. This will include an overview of the Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction and how clinical practice is evolving to better disposition patients based on troponin values and suggest how care will continue to evolve with more sensitive assays. P.A.C.E. credit for this webinar is no longer available.
