Nicholas Moulin, Cloud Software Architect at Intel; Usha Upadhyayula,Customer Enabling for Persistent Memory Products, Intel
Intel® Optane™ persistent memory (PMem) redefines traditional architectures, offering large capacity and new memory tier at an affordable cost. While your application performance can significantly accelerate by utilizing persistent memory, error handling becomes an essential aspect of the application’s overall health. The RAS ( Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) features of persistent memory are designed to support the error-handling strategy of an application. Persistent memory vendors and platform vendors will decide which RAS features and how they will implement them at the lowest hardware levels. This webinar will provide a quick overview of the essential aspects of the RAS design that a persistent memory application developer should consider for their software.
Attendees will learn about:
•A deeper understanding of Persistent Memory data errors
•How applications can respond to Persistent Memory data errors
•How apps can detect potential platform persistent memory data loss
About the presenter - Nicholas Moulin is a cloud software architect at Intel Corporation. Since joining Intel in 2012, he has focused on enabling and developing persistent memory software for operating systems and platform firmware, and managing persistent memory hardware. Nicholas is currently working with industry partners to define and improve RAS features relevant to the persistent memory programming model.
