Cybersecurity for Financial Services Industry

IT security and network teams at financial services institutions must address demands to rapidly adopt new technology, protect intellectual property, and comply with regulations. Additionally, they must also enable secure access to personal and commercial financial data from a variety of access points (e.g., retail branches, mobile devices, third-party business partners) while combating an increasing volume and sophistication of threats. This presentation will offer a reference blueprint for addressing all of these concerns with the Palo Alto Networks security platform, and share some use cases from the financial services industry.

  • Improve Attack Responses Through Real-Time Network Visibility Mar 15 2018 10:00 am UTC 60 mins
Rich Agar, Systems Engineer, ForeScout Technologies & Jon Wood, Systems Engineer, Palo Alto Networks
The proliferation of IoT and agentless devices leaves IT security teams challenged with discovering these devices, monitoring their security posture and remediating threats. How can you achieve visibility and speed up the time from malware detection to remediation?

No longer can organisations rely on guarding their perimeter and trusting they know everyone and everything accessing their networks. Proactive threat prevention in today’s BYOD and IoT era requires continuous network access visibility and real-time intelligence. It also requires automatically applying context-aware security policies such as segmenting or quarantining devices and users without having to re-build networks or know the devices up front.

    Webinar topics include:

    - Network security trends and challenges, including the more destructive ransomware, wipers, etc.
    - The importance of identifying and classifying managed and unmanaged devices
    - Ways of limiting data breaches by detecting advanced threats and taking automated remediation actions

This webinar is jointly presented by Jon Wood, Systems Engineer, Palo Alto Networks®, and Rich Agar, Systems Engineer, ForeScout Technologies. It will provide you with an overview and applied use cases of the integration between Palo Alto Networks and ForeScout solutions.
  • Extending Zero Trust to the Endpoint Mar 14 2018 5:00 pm UTC 60 mins
John Kindervag, Field CTO, Palo Alto Networks & Lieuwe Jan Koning, CTO, ON2IT B.V.
Zero Trust is a familiar concept when speaking about network architecture. The terms "never trust, always verify" rings a familiar tune to those focused on securing the network. However, as security technologies have advanced to cross-communicate between network and endpoints, Zero Trust principles should also extend from the network to the endpoints.

Join John Kindervag, the creator of the Zero Trust model, former Forrester analyst and current Field CTO at Palo Alto Networks, as he:

    - Discusses why endpoints need to talk to and integrate with other security technologies
    - Maps Zero Trust to the five critical points of the security architecture
    - Provides a framework as to why and how to extend Zero Trust to the endpoint

We'll also be hearing from, Lieuwe Jan Koning, CTO and Co-Founder of ON2IT, for an actual use case on endpoint Zero Trust adoption. Lieuwe will discuss:

    - Why ON2IT chose to focus on the endpoint
    - How they adopted Zero Trust
    - And, the reason why they chose Palo Alto Networks Traps advanced endpoint protection to secure their endpoints
  • Driving Innovations in Security Infrastructure: App Framework and GlobalProtect Mar 14 2018 3:30 pm UTC 60 mins
Brian Tokuyoshi, Sr Product Marketing Manager and Chetan Devchand, Systems Engineer
The business that you need to secure expands at a rapid pace, with cloud and mobile opening up new business opportunities. The security infrastructure that an organization needs extends far beyond the traditional network perimeter, and requires new thinking.

In this session, learn about two innovations that are changing how and where organizations deploy security. App Framework provides a unique way for organizations to build out the way they implement and operational security across the resources that they must protect. GlobalProtect cloud service helps organizations deliver protection to locations beyond the perimeter, including the remote branch office and to mobile users.

Join this session and learn about how the delivery of security infrastructure from the cloud is changing the game of preventing cyberattacks.
  • Securely Accelerate the Deployment of Services and Applications to the Cloud Mar 8 2018 10:30 am UTC 60 mins
Justin Harris, public cloud architect at Palo Alto Networks & Matthew Thomas, channel business manager at Palo Alto Networks
Securely Accelerate the Deployment of Services and Applications to the Cloud

Protect your workloads from threats while you protect your business from disruption.

Organisations are adopting Google® Cloud Platform - GCP™ to take advantage of the same technologies that drive common Google services. Many business initiatives, such as big data, analytics and machine learning, deployed on GCP allow you to leverage contextual data collected from billions of search engine data points. The power behind GCP, combined with agility and a global footprint, help you quickly deploy enterprise-class applications and services.

Join Justin Harris, public cloud architect at Palo Alto Networks and Matthew Thomas channel business manager at Palo Alto Networks to understand:

    - How the adoption of Palo Alto Networks® VM-Series on GCP allows
you to embrace a prevention-based approach to protecting your applications and data.

    - Why automation and centralized management features enable you to
embed next-generation security, limiting business disruption.

    - How the VM-Series firewalls are deployed in the GCP, how they
complement existing security tools and deliver better security outcomes for customers.
  • The Ransomware Epidemic Continues Mar 6 2018 9:00 am UTC 60 mins
Bryan Lee, Threat Intelligence Analyst, Unit 42, the Palo Alto Networks threat research team
Let’s face it, ransomware is everywhere. Every few months it seems there’s another new variant ripping across the world’s networks – snarling business and leaving chaos in its wake.

And because it’s become such a reliably lucrative business model, with ever-lower barriers to entry, ransomware won’t be going away anytime soon.

Outdated technology and poor cybersecurity hygiene help attackers to spread ransomware quickly and effectively. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

    Watch this webinar to learn:

    · About the rise of the ransomware business model

    · How adversaries are honing their tactics

    · What you can do to better protect your organization against ransomware attacks

Mike Spanbauer, VP of Research Strategy at NSS Labs & Zoltan Deak, Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Palo Alto Networks
NSS Labs recently published its first ever Breach Prevention Systems (BPS) test - examining vendors’ ability to not only detect, but prevent breaches from advanced malware, zero-day threats, and targeted attacks. In this test, Palo Alto Networks achieved a “Recommended” rating for overall security effectiveness, performance and total cost of ownership.

In this quick session join Mike Spanbauer, Vice President of Research Strategy at NSS Labs and Zoltan Deak of the Palo Alto Networks threat intelligence team as they cover:

    - What makes up a breach prevention system.
    - What organizations should be looking for when evaluating vendor solutions and some of the challenges involved.
    - An overview of the NSS Labs test results and how Palo Alto Networks performed.

  • LIVE demo - Safely Enable SaaS Applications with Aperture Recorded: Feb 23 2018 44 mins
    Omar Amarin, Systems Engineer
The adoption of SaaS applications continues to grow at an exponential pace. You do not want to clamp down on these applications because they are valuable tools for many of your employees. However, because the data and usage of these SaaS applications is invisible to IT administrators, they do expose your organization to potentially disastrous security and data theft risks.

Join us for a live webinar where you will learn how your organization can enable safe usage of SaaS applications and:

•Gain visibility and granular, context-based control of SaaS applications.
•Protect corporate data from malicious and inadvertent exposure after it has left the traditional corporate perimeter.
•Protect against new insertion and distribution points for malware.
•Satisfy compliance requirements while still maintaining the benefits of SaaS based application services.

The challenges of SaaS applications are already here whether they are enabled by IT or end users themselves. Find out how to take back control and safely enable their use.
