Overview:
Historically many insurers have steered away from high yield bonds, perceiving them to be excessively risky. We analyse the asset class in more detail to correct some of the misconceptions and identify which parts of the high yield market might be most appropriate for insurers.
As ESG becomes an ever more prominent issue for insurers, we discuss the different investment approaches that are being considered and the extent to which these will actually achieve the desired real world outcomes.
