IRM Webinar - Latest thinking in supply chain risk management

Presented by

Carolyn Williams, Director of Corporate Relations

About this talk

Not everyone could make it in person to our Risk Leaders conferences so we are offering our global membership and community a chance to hear from one of 2019’s most popular speakers via a special, free to attend, IRM webinar, looking at the highly topical issue of supply chain risk management. Professor Robert J Trent, Professor of Supply Chain Management at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania USA will be repeating his keynote presentation ‘How Myopic Financial Strategies Increase Corporate Risk’. Bob’s presentation will cover his research into supplier/customer relationships and will focus on the unintended consequences that can result when customers take actions that affect adversely the financial standing of their suppliers. Such financially myopic strategies increase corporate risk by encouraging retaliatory action and reducing the likelihood of receiving preferential treatment. The webinar will also feature supply chain expert Nick Wildgoose BA(Hons) FCA FCIPS. Nick will look at the importance of comprehensive supply chain risk management as part of an organisation’s ERM approach, including the importance of relationships and collaboration and how developments in technology and data availability are offering new solutions. The webinar will be chaired by Carolyn Williams, IRM Director of Corporate Relations. There will be opportunity to submit questions for our experts during the webinar. Date and time: Wednesday 11 December 1600 – 1730 GMT. This webinar qualifies as IRM CPD and may also meet the CPD requirements of other professional bodies.
