About this talk

Traditionally, many brands have focussed their online efforts on policing counterfeit products. But another threat has emerged in recent years which can be even more damaging to brands and consumers alike. When customers are faced with websites that look exactly like legitimate brand sites but are in fact fraudulent, it may cost them far more than the disappointment of receiving an inferior item. Indeed, consumers might find themselves falling victim to more substantial frauds as a result of engaging with and supplying details to wholly phoney websites, potentially without even knowing they've been duped. These fraud network websites are also present on social media, impersonating legitimate accounts and even advertising on the platforms. For brands, tackling this fraud is no easy task. Sophisticated bad actors create multiple illegitimate websites, meaning that even if you are able to close one down, another is still there to take its place, while in the meantime the bad conduct continues. Join this webinar at 5:30pm GMT/ 12:30pm ET on January 20, to hear brand experts from Patagonia and TTI talk about the ways in which they secure their online presence, and from BrandShield about how any business can ensure they are best-placed to fend off threats in the online world.
