Public Transportation in a Post COVID-19 World

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, mass transit ridership and fare revenues have plummeted by more than 90 percent at many agencies across the nation. While relief funds will address some of the short-term needs of these agencies, the long-term health and sustainability of the public transit system remains fragile.

As we begin to emerge from months of shelter in place and think about the future, it is paramount that the public transit system delivers safe riding conditions to the millions that depend on public transportation. But it won’t be easy.

This panel of researchers, academics, government officials and technology experts will discuss:

— The challenges, landscape, considerations, and potential solutions across the industry.
— Strategies to bring back the levels of ridership required for a sustainable system.
— Technology solutions required to meet health and safety standards while improving the rider experience.
— How to increase operational efficiency and drive new revenue streams.

Jonathan Fischer, Brian Kokkila, David Getz, Ed Mills
The many technologies that emergency responders use to serve communities faster and more efficiently are only as strong as the connectivity behind it all. Whether riding in an ambulance or fire truck or sitting in a pop-up command center on the frontlines, reliable and flexible LTE availability is essential for sending and receiving mission-critical data.

  • Why Wireless Connectivity is the Answer to Corporate Network Transformation Recorded: Sep 10 2020 49 mins
Graham Brooks, Strategic Account Director | Paul McHugh, Account Director Commericial | Roger Jones, Solutions Architect
For decades, traditional MPLS was the only option to connect corporate branch environments. With those legacy networks comes a lack of choice in wired connectivity, speed and availability based on service provider metrics, and time-consuming, expensive truck rolls whenever something needs fixed.

Today, branch networks are undergoing dramatic change that require organisations to rethink their legacy networks. Many IT professionals are currently asking themselves if 4G LTE is a viable option for branch networks, and whether or not they can trust wireless technology to keep their businesses connected and thriving.

In this webinar, we will address a few misconceptions about wireless WAN in the enterprise, and discuss why 4G LTE is not only a practical option for your branch networks, but the most flexible, secure and reliable solution. Whether using cellular for primary, secondary, or hybrid WAN connectivity, 4G LTE plays a significant role in the modern branch network.

    What we’ll cover:
    - Traditional wired networks vs. USB modems vs. wireless 4G LTE connectivity
    - Current state of the WAN and trends in the market
    - Capabilities of 4G LTE & SD-WAN
    - Success stories from organisations in banking/finance, retail, and construction outlining use cases in pop-up networking, parallel networking, and failover.

  • Work from Anywhere: The Mission Critical Workforce Recorded: Aug 20 2020 44 mins
Cradlepoint's Aaron Maben, Corporate Solutions Engineer and ZScaler's Rahim Ibrahim, Technology Alliances Manager
When life gives you lemons ... As the US threatens to roll back economic re-openings, work-life will continue to be upheaved, underscoring an important truth: A distributed, mission-critical workforce requires the right technologies in place to allow work from anywhere. Introducing hundreds of vulnerable entry points across myriad consumer-class networks is challenging, which is why organizations are finding ways to extend the robust security of traditional office networks to critical employees - wherever they are working. The most effective way to replicate the office network at home is to deploy a "wireless private network" or WPN: a completely separate and corporate-controlled network at home using LTE-based Wireless. By implementing a physically separate at-home network IT can control all aspects of the network - from connectivity to reliability, security, management, and troubleshooting.

    This webinar will explore:

    - How Wireless WAN (4G/5G) and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) allows simplified secure deployments and the ability to scale a distributed workforce

    - How to minimize business risk and completely segment and isolate work devices from employees' household networks

    - How work from anywhere expands the HR recruiting pool and negates geographic restrictions

Join Cradlepoint and Zscaler for a visionary webinar exploring the bright future of remote work while also remaining firmly grounded in the reality of managing the risks of working from anywhere (WFX). By leveraging the Wireless WAN, including 5G, for fast, reliable, and secure connectivity and the SASE to reduce overall business risk, organizations have the opportunity to be proactive and look further ahead to new possibilities. Let's make lemonade.

  • Telemedicine Offers the Flexibility Healthcare Requires in COVID-19 Recovery Recorded: Jul 9 2020 31 mins
Cradlepoint’s Anthony Lawson, Manager, Technical Marketing Engineering and Devang Bhatt, Sr. Alliance Partner Program Manager
Telemedicine has been embraced as a necessary means to sustain the health system during the pandemic, allowing patients and doctors to remain at home if needed. Online technologies such as remote at-home patient consultations via real-time video conferencing and digital transmission of medical data and imaging provide a life-saving way to keep vulnerable patients distanced and reduce the risk on health care providers. For the same reason, hospitals and clinics are offering healthcare outside of the clinic at temporary spaces and in mobile units.

Reliable and fast networks are key to providing these services. To connect mission-critical healthcare workers from their home, vehicle, or temporary location, a network solution that can be deployed anywhere, be managed easily, and maintain security compliance is essential. This will build confidence in telemedicine, for both patients and providers.

Join this webinar on July 9 to explore:

    — How networks with integrated LTE offer the flexibility to reach patients anywhere
    — How day-1 deployments deliver fast access to critical devices and applications
    — How to achieve optimal cellular performance in at-home and pop-up networks
