A response to ever-increasing cyber-risk, the Network and Information Systems 2 (NIS2) directive will significantly affect European Union countries and nation-states in its periphery by the end of 2024. 

NIS2 will bring into the category of critical national infrastructure (CNI) companies which are not currently considered to be part of CNI, and it require those companies to disclose network and computer systems incidents. Failure to do so can result in significant financial penalties.
