In this webinar, industry thought leader Dr. Bastiaan Tops will share his diagnostic laboratory's recent accomplishments in precision medicine at a national pediatric oncology center in the Netherlands. Dr. Tops will discuss the clinical value of Whole-Transcriptome Sequencing (WTS) and Whole-Exome Sequencing (WES) for improved diagnosis and treatment selection. Dr. Tops is Head of the Diagnostics Lab at Princess Maxima Center for pediatric oncology in Utrecht, Netherlands. Since 2018, the lab has introduced several new tests in routine diagnostics (e.g., WES and WTS), and has facilitated Whole-Genome Sequencing (WGS) in a research setting. In one of his recent publications on JCO Precision Oncology he demonstrated the “Improved Gene Fusion Detection in Childhood Cancer Diagnostics Using RNA Sequencing."
