Achieving Seamless Resiliency and High Availability in NFV and SDN

Presented by

Ali A. Kafel, VP of Business Development, Stratus Technologies

About this talk

OpenStack has been selected as the cloud platform of choice for NFV and SDN. While OpenStack supports basic levels of availability it does not support service continuity and stateful fault tolerance. However, most VNFs and SDN applications need service continuity and state protection. Unfortunately, this time-consuming and complex task is generally left to the applications – until now! Providing transparent HA and Resiliency in the software infrastructure is significantly less complex and less time consuming. This talk will show a flexible and efficient way of deploying dynamic resiliency for any application, with selectable levels of availability, including stateful fault tolerant with geo-redundancy, without code changes. What Attendees will learn: •How to achieve seamless service continuity with fully stateful fault tolerance for any application, in an NFV and SDN environment •How to fully automate a cloud workload environment, with selectable levels of availability, for all applications including control and forwarding elements, with different latency requirements. •How to transform Telco network equipment efficiency from the traditional 45% utilization towards a model that provides 80% to 90% utilization
