Achieving Seamless Resiliency and High Availability in NFV and SDN

OpenStack has been selected as the cloud platform of choice for NFV and SDN. While OpenStack supports basic levels of availability it does not support service continuity and stateful fault tolerance. However, most VNFs and SDN applications need service continuity and state protection. Unfortunately, this time-consuming and complex task is generally left to the applications – until now!

Providing transparent HA and Resiliency in the software infrastructure is significantly less complex and less time consuming. This talk will show a flexible and efficient way of deploying dynamic resiliency for any application, with selectable levels of availability, including stateful fault tolerant with geo-redundancy, without code changes.

What Attendees will learn:
•How to achieve seamless service continuity with fully stateful fault tolerance for any application, in an NFV and SDN environment
•How to fully automate a cloud workload environment, with selectable levels of availability, for all applications including control and forwarding elements, with different latency requirements.
•How to transform Telco network equipment efficiency from the traditional 45% utilization towards a model that provides 80% to 90% utilization

  • Edge Convergence of Fixed and Mobile Network Services Recorded: Apr 17 2018 59 mins
Nazneen Shaikh - Founder and Director, Sanctum Networks and Murali Krishnan - Director Engineering, Sanctum Networks
The wide usage of Cloud Computing has hastened the convergence of Internet and Cloud Technologies. Increase in demand of ‘Everything-as-a-Service’ are creating tremendous pressure on conventional hardware based service gateways, that are finding it difficult to meet the demands of cloud scaling and convergence of services delivery. Additionally with the proliferation of OTT players, Telcos and DTH providers are feeling the heat of diminishing services revenues calling for  solutions that could enable commercially viable service innovation and accelerate consumer adoption.

Increasing demand on service personalization and consistent multi-device experience is accelerating the demand on providers to seek ways to converge their disparate Access networks to meet this demand while staying profitable. This is only possible through extensive multi-dimension insight into the customers network and the ability to dynamically program the network as per user experience. In this webinar, we intend to share a few key factors that we believe could  positively influence this seamless digital transformation like :

    · How effectively can access/edge convergence help in orchestrating service delivery and creating uniform user experience
    · How can Telcos and OTTs co exist without impacting their revenue plans
    · How can DTH providers who are also ISPs make use of edge convergence and attain best of both worlds
    · How could 5G be really about converged, interworking networks than today’s “little bigger 4G"
    · How could Network slicing be made more realistic for MSOs and VNOs
    · How could today’s pseudo SD-WAN deployments by Telcos be made more realistic
    · How we make use of Intel’s NEV stack to implement edge convergence gateway.

  • Is your company protected from a VOIP DDoS attack? Recorded: Apr 5 2018 45 mins
Rami Neiman, Senior Software Engineer | Gilbert Gutierrez, Business Development Manager - Northforge Innovations
Today, with less expensive and more powerful processing power and bandwidth, plus the emergence of unsecure and unsupervised IOT devices, attackers can launch potent DDoS attacks at much lower cost. As a result, not only the “big players” (such as banking, trade platforms, subscription services and social media) are in danger of being attacked. The ease of launching a DDoS attack has put every business, no matter how large or small, in the risk zone. Denial of service attacks strike at the very heart of client-business interaction: the channel of communication. Businesses relying on IP telephony and VOIP services are just as much exposed to the threat as the ones delivering their services via the web.
With the growing number of DoS attacks launched against business infrastructure every year, no business can afford to pass on having an efficient solution to detect these attacks and mitigate their harmful effects. While large companies can afford to deploy high cost purpose-built network security equipment, smaller businesses can’t always justify that kind of investment. For them, cost, ease of deployment and flexibility are major decision factors in choosing a security solution.
In this webinar, we will discuss how Northforge can address small business needs for cost-efficient, high performance and flexible VOIP DDoS protection solutions. We will demonstrate how, using Intel technologies, it’s possible to achieve real time threat detection and reporting using minimal customer-provided computational resources and without additional equipment investments.
