About this talk

In this session we’ll show you how you can get applications into the cloud rapidly and effectively by using the OpenStack application catalog project Murano. The catalog can include everything from simple components like a Dockerized web server or database to complex clustered configurations of multiple dependent app components with associated network, storage, and compute configurations. Customer examples include everything from clusters of Microsoft backoffice systems to containerized Virtualized Network Functions. The Murano project accomplishes this by being more than a catalog for applications and services. Murano packages allow the developer to define a user interface so the cloud user is only asked for relevant input when the deploy, upgrade, scale out, or execute other app lifecycle actions. Murano uses a powerful cloud workflow engine to implement lifecycle actions that orchestrate application components into complex environments. The operator can leverage localized templates in Heat, Puppet, or Ansible to assure that Murano uses the appropriate network, storage, backup, or other processes for their specific cloud.
