About this talk

There are only 500K of small cells projected to be shipped in 2016, while there were 10.5 million enterprise Wi-Fi APs shipped in 2014! Wi-Fi APs are cost-effective and easy to install and maintain. But quality of experience is not there as the spectrum is unlicensed. In this webinar, you will learn about innovative vRAN solution from Parallel Wireless that utilizes Intel technology to drive deployment cost and complexity down. Being able to use a “white box” Cellular Access Point (CAP) based on Intel technology that has licensed (3G/4G) + Wi-Fi gives mobile operators the flexibility to choose any ODM for hardware, which lowers the equipment CAPEX. Network function virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) on Parallel Wireless HetNet Gateway, running on Intel server, are being used to simplify and cut the costs of wireless deployments in the enterprise as well making them as easy and as cost-effective as Wi-Fi. As a result, this NFV strategy helps SPs to open new revenue streams by offering a cost-effective (pennies per square foot), easy-to-install solution to their Enterprise customers. Enterprises can deploy/maintain this NFV-enabled enterprise vRAN just like they deploy Wi-Fi -- under a day install the whole system – no specialized installers or RF planning are required. The HNG configures the nodes without any involvement from IT personnel (plug-and-play) AND our HetNet Gateway HNG also mitigates interference not only with the in-building cells, but macros as well. This results in better QoS for data and voice for the enterprises themselves. HNG offers several voice services such as VoLTE and VoWiFi in addition to enabling Smart Services for building owners.
