Network slicing is one of the key capabilities that enables flexibility which allows service providers to deploy multiple logical netwok on shared physical infrastructure. It also extensively uses the concept of Network function virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Network (SDN) to bundle the virtualized network functions into tailored made logical network to handle varied requirement like low latency network, high bandwidth network, reliability, etc. This optimization helps to monetize the investment better and also opens up new revenue streams.
