About this talk

Over-the-top SD-WAN providers are all leveraging x86 appliances as default appliances and very few are using x86 platforms with virtualization. This indeed makes a lot of sense when new devices are needed on the Edge of the network however this is more challenging from a TCO perspective and may limit SD-WAN adoption. While Intel offers a large range of platforms and solutions to optimize their usage, which make those relevant at the Edge, they must be complemented for the entry level with cost-effective solutions in order to extend the overall SD-WAN market. The end game with an extended SD-WAN market being to enable additional network services.
