5G enabled – Smart Factory @ stürmsfs

Disaggregated and virtualized Radio Access Network (RAN) enables 5G market competition and customer choice with lower equipment costs, and improved network performance. Open RAN deployments can be implemented in vendor-neutral hardware and software-defined technology, based on open interfaces and community-developed standards. Cybersecure Private 5G In-A-Box for Edge Deployments

Most key exchange methods used to secure data in networks today use mechanisms that are broken by quantum computers. Even before quantum computers become available, it’s possible for attackers to store data today and decrypt it later. Information that needs to be kept secret for a long time (state secrets, personal health and genomics data, trade secrets, financial data, etc.) is already at risk since it can be easily siphoned from public networks and stored encrypted in a data silo until it can be decrypted.

Arqit’s Symmetric Key Agreement™ Platform (SKA) is a cloud-hosted or on-prem service that can secure networks with encryption that is unbreakable by a quantum computer. This allows endpoints to upgrade the security of communication channels they create, like an IPsec tunnel.

You might have experienced the amount of time it takes and how error prone it is to bring up a few servers with operating systems and right software packages. Now, imagine thousands of locations , multiple servers in each location and bringing up all the software needed to create Kubernetes clusters at each location.  Making a cluster out of servers requires multiple steps – configuring BIOS,  installing operating systems, installing docker/K8s packages and installing basic network functions for connectivity.  And the number of steps go up linearly with the number of locations. Hence, automation without physically going to each location is important.  Then imagine Day2 operations – Knowing about health of clusters, @scale software upgrades – needed to deploy security fixes – and their complexity.
