Geo Distributed computing, 5G, uCPE/SASE use cases require @scale orchestration & Automation. Orchestration & Automation is expected to keep in mind the co-existence of IT/IOT and Network applications, Automation of infrastructure components with the dynamism of applications, and full life cycle management of deployed applications. It is also expected to keep in mind the geo-distribution of micro-services of applications across multiple edges & clouds. Centralized orchestration & automation system shall take care of all kinds of applications, and hence the trend is to have a comprehensive system. That is, no multiple orchestration & Automation systems – One for network functions and another for IT/IOT applications.
In this webinar, we will touch base upon few geo-distributed application use cases, discuss the complexity in managing them without a central orchestrator, and discuss various capabilities expected out of the central orchestration systems. In particular, we will talk about intent-based placement considering cost, latency, platform capabilities, and a few more. Also, we will discuss the intent-based Automation of various infrastructure components. We will introduce you to a few solutions – Open source and proprietary – and how they are addressing these complex placement and Automation of massively distributed application life cycle management.
Participants will learn:
• Requirements for acceleration technologies
• Hoe Intel Open Ness solves this requirement
• Complexities of scheduling network-intensive workloads in Kubernetes
• The need for supporting complex affinity and anti-affinity rules
• How Robin automation platform can support these requirements
