About this talk

Kubernetes is well known for managing the containerized applications. Via knative, K8s supports serverless workloads. Do you know that Kubernetes can be used to manage virtualized workloads too? No wonder Kubernetes is becoming choice of workload controller for Telco, Enterprises, Edge providers and cloud providers. One might ask for the need for virtualization support in K8s. Slicing/multi-tenancy is one reason. Though K8s supports operational isolation, tenants are concerned about Linux kernel sharing. With virtualization, one can achieve security isolation among workloads. Few other reasons are related to supporting legacy VM based applications and as well as supporting VMs that have specialized operating system. In this presentation, we will introduce you to various technologies that support VMs/VNFs in K8s environments.
