Since founding Castlebridge in 2009, Daragh and his team have worked with organisations of all sizes across a variety of sectors, including start-ups, SMEs, Non-Profits, Government bodies, EU institutions and other International Organisations. Amongst other publications, Daragh is a co-author of Data Ethics (2nd Edition), published by Kogan Page, lectures in UCD School of Law and the Law Society of Ireland on Data Governance and Data Protection. He is also a member of the Innovation Value Institute in Maynooth University. He is a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society and a Fellow of Information Privacy from the IAPP. The Data Governance Policies enable the organisation to leverage data as an asset, creating a strong data foundation, by implementing a shared set of roles, processes, responsibilities and vocabulary around the purpose and value of data. A Data Governance framework establishes roles and responsibilities for the participants in the organisation. Garry is currently the Head of Data Governance at Vanquis Banking Group and is accountable for the design, development, and implementation of the Group’s Data Governance Framework, specifically enabling Data Owners and Data Stewards to understand their data more, whilst the Group embarks on a significant Data Transformation programme. Garry has been working in Data Governance for 17 years, both in Consultancy for EY and PWC, and in a number of financial institutions such as Barclays and Visa.
