Take up of SPL is building slowly but it is still low. If we are serious about unleashing the economic potential of women, then it’s not enough just to look at women as leaders. It also needs to be OK for men to be carers. Take up of SPL is therefore a key indicator. And one that enlightened employers have already understood is VITAL to their gender diversity aims.

In 2017 My Family Care and the Women’s Business Council are working together in a best practice and research partnership. The qualitative approach is aimed at understanding not only WHY take-up is still relatively low, but to HOW SPL is being used by fathers and partners, WHAT impact it has had on their lives and careers as well as WHAT needs to be done to improve take up.

In this webinar we’ll be sharing our findings and inviting leading employer panellists to comment on the experiences within their organisations.

Leading employers will be joining us to share their experience and the challenges and benefits of embracing flexible working.
  • The guide to more efficient recruiting. Recorded: Nov 3 2016 52 mins
James Marsh, HRreview; Chris Lowery, iCIMS
The longer a vacancy remains open, cost per hire continues to increase, productivity suffers, and competitive candidates begin opting for employers who extend an offer sooner. Employers are now estimating that they lose more than £9,500 per vacancy that isn’t filled within 3 months. It is important to continuously explore options to consolidate, structure, and improve your hiring process. Software can help solve these issues and structure the recruitment process so all information is in one place. The result is a better means of finding, hiring, and retaining top talent. This webinar will walk you through statistics and steps to begin hiring more efficiently while also highlighting a case study to demonstrate an example of how these best practices really work.

  • Maternity & Paternity coaching Recorded: May 26 2016 61 mins
James Marsh, HRr; Jennifer Liston-Smith, My Family Care; Kulbir Shergill, KPMG; Louise Marshman, IBM; Catherine Oliver, SKY
Employees going through the transition to parenthood can be lost from the most demanding roles in the workforce and/or from the talent pipeline, unless we pay attention to this area.
Coaching that acknowledges the challenges of new parenthood, and focuses on communicating, prioritising, being influential and proactive at work can make the difference between employees returning long term, or leaving again. And equipping line managers for effective, timely communication as well as tips on avoiding pitfalls makes a huge difference.
In this webinar we examine the business case and hear first-hand from employers who are reaping the benefits.
  • Global Mobility Recorded: May 5 2016 56 mins
Robert Leeming, HRreview; Jurga McCluskey, Deloitte; Helen Walton, Astrazeneca UK
More and more companies are taking an international view, in order to try and insulate themselves against economic woes in individual countries and are opening offices in far flung climbs.

So with this in mind how should HR departments approach the task of making businesses more mobile? How should issues regarding ever changing legal and immigration rules be approached for example. And how should HR departments deal with the difficult task of assisting employees in relocating individuals and the more complex task of relocating families.
  • Shared Parental Leave - One year on Recorded: Apr 12 2016 60 mins
James Marsh, HRreview; Jennifer Liston-Smith, My Family Care; Xanic Jones, Citi; Kristen Doherty, Accenture

One year on from the legislation coming into effect, this webinar will look at the following areas:

    • How employers have changed their parental pay and policies.
    • Take-up, strategic impact and the factors that have influenced it
    • What challenges and successes employers have experienced since implementing changes.

  • Gender Pay Gap Recorded: Mar 9 2016 56 mins
Robert Leeming, HRreview; Ed Bowyer, Hogan Lovells; Amanda Jones, Maclay Murray & Spens; Jessica Wade, WISE
It is sometimes difficult to believe that there is still an issue with gender equality in the UK. The issue is rising on the Government’s agenda though and it has been announced that companies of a certain size will be compelled to make public the pay levels of their employees. But is enough being done or is any legislation that aims to exert further governmental control over business a bad idea?

  • Centralising Recruitment Recorded: Nov 12 2015 53 mins
James Marsh, Symposium; Susan Vitale, iCIMS; Daniel Connacher, Euromoney
Many UK companies highlight that one of their main recruitment issues is the centralisation and standardisation of their overall recruitment process. If these processes are not standardised companies can lose not only time and money, but the opportunity to locate and hire the right personnel. Even the most simple things, like the word ‘hire’ can have a variety of definitions within the same company causing confusion and inefficiencies. Software can help solve these issue and structure the recruitment process so all information is in one place and there is a streamlined process to find, hire, and retain top talent.
This webinar will take you through the key stages of centralizing your recruitment process, explain the benefits of standardisation and examine a case study, the process they went through and some of the lessons learned.
  • Workplace Learning Recorded: Sep 9 2015 58 mins
James Marsh, Symposium; Laurie Burruss, Lynda.com; Gavin Walsh, Arvato; Bertie Tonks Collinson Group
Learning cannot be separated from work. Informal education frameworks put development at the centre of an organisation. This creates a culture of learning that will result in more productivity, less churn, retention of existing talent, attracting top talent, and most importantly ROI.

This webinar will examine ‘best practice’ for in house learning, the key areas of developing a truly effective learning solution and looking at case studies, the lessons learned and the pitfalls to avoid.
