OSM Release FOURTEEN makes generally available the new scalable architecture for service assurance based on Apache Airflow and Prometheus already introduced in previous release, now including the closed loops for auto-scaling and the handling of alerts coming from the VNF. This architecture is prepared to cover the most demanding service assurance scenarios such as auto-healing and auto-scaling in large clouds and multiple edge sites. In addition, Release FOURTEEN includes significant improvements in other key areas such as secured helm-based Execution Environments (EE), new capabilities for NS deployment, relevant enhancements in user management policies and audit logs, a helm-based installation of OSM and some enhancements in OSM client. This webinar will present the highlights of the new release along with some demonstrations of the new capabilities and use cases.

OSM Release FOURTEEN Overview: a New Scalable Architecture for Service Assurance

This is the 4th and last event of the 2023 ETSI ZSM Webinar Series. The ultimate target of zero-touch network & service automation is a largely autonomous operation, enabling self-management, self-healing and self-optimization – without further human intervention. Trust is a major barrier to adoption and striving to build it requires a continuous learning process. As more automation processes are deployed and operate securely and efficiently, human trust will increase. Having native security (e.g. an adaptive secured framework, access control, trustworthiness, data protection) can help to establish confidence and instill trust as the automated processes deliver the intended business outcomes.
The webinar will present the results of the comprehensive study that was conducted by the ZSM group in ETSI report ZSM010 on potential security threats and risks to the ZSM framework and solutions. This is the 2nd event of the 2023 ETSI ZSM Webinar Series. The ZSM framework and solutions were designed to enable self-management, closed-loop automation and optimized for data-driven analytics. Advanced machine-learning algorithms and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be essential tools to deal with the complexity and the diverse services.
The webinar will describe the management capabilities the ETSI specification ZSM 012 provides to enable full AI operations within the ZSM framework. These enablers include capabilities to:

Enabling AI and Providing Intent to Empower the Zero-touch Automation Solutions

This is the 1st event of the 2023 ETSI ZSM Webinar Series. This webinar will describe how the ZSM framework can be used for the cross-domain management and orchestration of end-to-end services. Based on the ETSI specification ZSM 008, it will cover the lifecycle management processes for the onboarding, fulfilment and assurance of general end-to-end services and will demonstrate how these processes can be realized leveraging the northbound interfaces of different technology domains, such as 3GPP Radio Access, Fixed Access, 3GPP Core and Transport, to realize these processes across different technology domains. Further, the mechanisms defined by ETSI ZSM 003 for the management and orchestration of network slices will be introduced. Finally, two proofs of concept (PoCs) demonstrating the ZSM end-to-end approach will be presented. The PoCs focus on autonomy, as well as on service scaling in multisite environments.

New technologies, in particular artificial intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) are essential today for profiling users, in order to cope with their expectations to communicate "anywhere, anytime, on any device, for every service, with everyone ". 
It is important however to put the user at the center of the data system. Therefore, ETSI has developed a model allowing to design a user-centric digital clone for the smart identity, application independent, and leaving control of data to the user. This step will lead to the design of the Smart Interface.
In this webinar, the ETSI User Group will present their work and a Proof of Concept (POC), that demonstrates the possibility of digitizing personal information, by delivering the active user profile at any time.

This webinar will present the recently published ETSI GS MEC 040 specification, on “MEC Federation Enablement APIs”, which is critical to enable inter-MEC system communication and allow 5G operators to collaborate among themselves and with service cloud providers and other stakeholders. This new specification relates to the Telco Edge Cloud concept and the requirements introduced by GSMA OPG (Operator Platform Group), and it defines new APIs for the enablement of the MEC federation, by allowing operators to "federate" edge computing resources by offering their MEC service capabilities for: mutual consumption; application developers; and end customers (e.g. vertical market segments).

This webinar offers an overview of the recently announced ETSI TeraFlowSDN release 2.0, and a demonstration of some of its latest features.

In this second TeraFlowSDN release, a big focus is put on scalability and resilience of the controller, with a complete re-design of the Context Component to include a scalable database (i.e., CrocoachDB) to support the stringent non-functional requirements. Also, a lot of attention is put on network automation, with the implementation of a long list of new workflows, including L3VPN establishment with SLA, multi-layer topology discovery, service Access Control List (ACL), service restoration, service location-awareness, traffic engineering, slice SLA enforcement, slice grouping, forecasting, inter-domain slice SLA enforcement, inter-domain connectivity provisioning and SLA enforcement using DLT, and Energy-aware network service placement.

TeraFlowSDN release 2 overview

This webinar offers an overview of the recently announced ETSI Open Source MANO Release THIRTEEN, and a demonstration of some of its latest features.

OSM Release THIRTEEN introduces a new scalable architecture for service assurance and closed-loop operations leveraging on cloud-native version of Apache Airflow and Prometheus. This architecture is prepared to cover the most demanding service assurance scenarios such as auto-healing and auto-scaling in large clouds and multiple edge sites. OSM Release THIRTEEN overview

This Webinar is providing an overview on current initiatives by the European Commission driving a number of key policy initiatives related to Cybersecurity, Privacy, protection against fraud and Artificial Intelligence from a standardization point of view. In this context, new essential requirements are being introduced which are required to be met by equipment manufacturers in order to maintain continued access to the Single European market. A Delegated Act was issued related to the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) invoking RED Articles 3(3)(d), 3(3)(e) and 3(3)(f) related to Cybersecurity, Privacy and protection against fraud respectively for radio equipment. In the context of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), a broad concept of “digital elements” is being introduced for which new essential requirements are being defined. CRA explicitly relates to software such as Operating Systems as well as hardware components such as Microprocessors and others. The Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) is furthermore providing a broad legal framework for future AI systems. The Webinar will enable the participant to understand the current status of the related activity and possibilities to influence the implementation of the regulation initiatives through participation in standardization activities.

Dr. Markus Mueck is a Principal Engineer with Intel Deutschland, Munich, Germany and an Engineering Director leading Intel Germany’s Standardization organization; he acts as Member of the Board of the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), Vice-Chair of the ETSI Board, Vice-Chair of the ETSI OCG AI Committee overseeing ETSI’s AI/ML activities, he is member of the ETSI Delegation to 3GPP PCG/OP and Adj. Status update on Radio Equipment Directive, Cyber Resilience Act and AI Act

Making the edge sharp and safe: update on MEC security
MEC (Multi-access Edge Computing) environments are by nature characterized by a complex multi-vendor, multi-supplier, multi-stakeholder ecosystem of equipment including both HW and SW devices. Given this overall level of system heterogeneity, the areas of security, trust, and privacy are key topics for the edge environments. Finally, the advent of edge cloud federations and the presence of (far) edge devices, e.g. in Internet-of-Things environments, requires tackling MEC security with an end-to-end (E2E) approach by leveraging existing standards relevant in the area, carefully selected to be applicable in edge computing systems.

This webinar will offer an overview of MEC security, by providing an updated status from standards and industry groups, and exploring security-related use cases and requirements with the aim of identifying aspects of security where the nature of edge computing results in insufficient industry approaches to cloud security. But how to structure the captured representation of the real world in a way to provide interoperability among existing XR systems? This webinar will present you the recently published ETSI specifications and available tools to create, modify and store a world representation. The storage takes place as a shared graph on a remote server. With this approach, the world representation specification also supports the creation of large scale XR experiences.

Part 1: IPv6 Enhanced Innovation Global Vision

The F5G network has three characteristics for extending and enhancing fixed networks, defined as eFBB, FFC and GRE. To implement these characteristics, the F5G architecture has introduced new design principles and new features. Such features include separation of the data plane into an Underlay Plane and a Service Plane, dual network fabrics for the Aggregation Network, comprising an IP/Ethernet and an OTN fabric, and the seamless and combined usage of PON and OTN, and E2E slicing. Based on these design principles and new features, F5G can provide a variety of services for residential and enterprise customers over one physical network with guaranteed SLAs. 

The webinar will provide brief introduction of the E2E F5G architecture and addressing the above mentioned features. Besides the network architecture, also the overall ISG F5G projects and its progress will be illustrated.
