The update on the vaccine is fantastic news. The extraordinary share price moves, however, were really a reflection of just how polarised markets have become this year. When markets are all pointing the same way, history tells us that it often ends in significant pain for those that have put all of their eggs in one basket. We do not profess to know when the tide will turn for a prolonged period, only that the ongoing extreme polarisation, with a handful of stocks and sectors being preferred at the expense of all else, is unsustainable.
Our view remains constant: valuation matters, and good companies that have been shunned by markets are the most reliable source of our returns for clients. Join Simon Adler and Liam Nunn to hear how this has played out in the Global Recovery Fund, and where they see attractive opportunities in the future.
