About this talk

"The world has seen an unprecedented impact from the COVID-19 pandemic and the policies rolled out to shore up the global economy. Predicting the long-term economic repercussions is challenging, but we believe that the pandemic is likely to reinforce long-term trends that are already in progress. Darren Williams, AB’s Director of Economic Research, and Eric Winograd, US Senior Economist, take a closer look at deglobalization, the resurgence of populism and government debt growth. Some of the effects of COVID-19 policies are pushing on an open door—leaning in the same direction as these secular trends. Our guest speakers will also provide an update on November’s US presidential and congressional elections."
