Federal CTO Tech Talk: Say Goodbye to the Stone Age of Wi-Fi
On April 23, the United States FCC voted unanimously to open the 6 GHz band for use by Wi-Fi and other unlicensed broadband radio systems. This new Order – which adds an additional 1,200 MHz for Wi-Fi – is the single most consequential FCC decision in at least a generation and in some ways eclipses the original 1997 decision opening the 5 GHz U-NII bands. Chuck will review the scope of the decision, the concurrent Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, and preview likely developments in this band in 2021 and beyond.

Cybersecurity has never been higher-profile than it is today. But if you can’t trust your infrastructure itself, how can you trust the services that run on top of it? Aruba Threat Labs is the internal threat research organization tasked with keeping Aruba products secure. Hear how they stay on top of threats, find vulnerabilities through original research, manage Aruba’s bug bounty program, and act as the face of the PSIRT. We’ll detail some past vulnerabilities, go over Aruba’s vulnerability response policy, and talk about areas of future research.
In this session, we'll explore the various approaches to contact and location tracing across different industries, including the Federal government, and discuss Aruba’s strategy in this space. We'll also discuss the prolific changes happening in the future "hybrid workplace" and how investments in a location-aware infrastructure will form the foundation for more touchless and autonomous workplace experiences.
