This webinar will address court-based tools in England and Singapore that victims of cryptocurrency fraud can consider using to recover their stolen assets. Such tools include: - Proprietary, “Black Swan” and “Persons Unknown” injunctions - Cross-border discovery via the blockchain or digital ledger and against third party intermediaries e.g. banks and crypto-platforms The speakers will also seek to foreshadow future developments in the asset-recovery space. Matthew Lavy, Barrister, 4 Pump Court Matthew is a commercial barrister with a particular focus on disputes involving technology. He was one of the authors of the Legal Statement on Crypto-assets and Smart Contracts published by the UK Jurisdiction Taskforce in November 2019. Danny Quah, Counsel, Providence Law Asia LLC Danny is a Singapore-based commercial litigator specialising in tax, insolvency, fraud tech disputes. He has been recognised as an up-and-coming litigator by the Singapore Academy of Law.
