Introducing the Janus Henderson Global Multi-Strategy Fund

In this webcast, portfolio manager David Elms and Investment Director, Alistair Sayer will give an introductory webinar on the Janus Henderson Global Multi-Strategy Fund. Unlike other alternatives products that might only employ a single strategy, the Fund is made up of six internally-managed strategies: five of those seek to identify opportunities in more ‘normal’ market conditions, and the sixth strategy, a dedicated protection strategy, seeks to deliver returns in troubled market environments where volatility is rising and where other strategies typically underperform. Key points covered include:
•How the team identify opportunities that are not ‘zero-sum games’ across financial markets
•The team-developed, skills-based strategies that they manage
•The importance of explicit top-down portfolio protection.

    Tim Winstone
    Throughout 2020, investors have witnessed unprecedented volatility within the European Corporate Bond market. Policy response has been strong, both in terms of its size and speed, which has provided a trifecta of stimulus (low interest rates, quantitative easing and fiscal support) for the market. As we look towards 2021, how will experiences from 2020 shape our portfolio construction views across Investment Grade markets.
    In this upcoming webcast, Tim Winstone, Corporate Credit Portfolio Manager, delves into where we believe the alpha opportunities lie ahead for the European investment grade market, positioning for the Janus Henderson European Corporate Bond Fund and an outlook for the market, including the impacts of:

    • Resurgence of second lockdowns and the impact on company fundamentals/global growth;
    • Lingering risks that could impact the future performance of credit markets over 2021; and

  • Teetering on the edge of a double dip Recorded: Oct 13 2020 57 mins
    Tom Ross & Seth Meyer
    Following unprecedented levels of monetary and fiscal stimulus risk markets broadly continued to recover through the third quarter pricing in close to a ‘V-shaped’ economic recovery. September however has seen a pick-up in volatility as coronavirus cases rise again in Europe and geopolitical events such as the US election and Brexit approach. In this presentation, Seth Meyer and Tom Ross, portfolio managers on high yield strategies at Janus Henderson, discuss some of the pressing questions facing the high yield bond asset class, including:

    • How is the economic backdrop feeding through to corporate credit fundamentals?
    • Is this time different from a cyclical perspective across regions, sectors and names?
    • What are the risks and opportunities you see in high yield as we go into year end and beyond?
  • Multi-Sector Income Update: Finding value in today’s fixed income market Recorded: Sep 29 2020 54 mins
    Seth Meyer, John Lloyd & John Kerschner
    A crisis of unprecedented magnitude and speed followed by an equally sharp recovery may leave investors wondering where they can find value in the fixed income markets.

    While opportunities exist, they take deep fundamental research to uncover and we believe now is really the time to be active with your fixed income allocation. There are several uncertainties still facing investors and with this backdrop, being able to spot and take advantage of market dislocations while actively managing risk is paramount.

    Please join Portfolio Managers Seth Meyer, CFA, John Kerschner, CFA and John Lloyd as they discuss:
    Misunderstood areas of the market offering attractive yields
    Opportunities they are finding even amid tight spreads
    How active management can take advantage of the dislocations we the team is still seeing in the market
    This webcast session will also include a review of the performance of the Janus Henderson Multi-Sector Income Fund, its current positioning and outlook for the medium term.

    The second quarter of 2020 was an idyllic environment for corporate bonds following a tumultuous first quarter. Richard Clode, Alison Porter & Graeme Clark
    With strong balance sheets and having in many cases benefited from the COVID-19 crisis, technology companies have been able to continue to innovate putting them in a stronger position to disrupt weaker incumbents post-crisis.

    The digital divide has only been exacerbated by the crisis. Opportunities have multiplied but so have the risks of greater regulatory and geopolitical scrutiny.

    In this webinar, Portfolio Managers Alison Porter, Graeme Clark and Richard Clode will discuss:

    • Why the possible 'K-shaped' economic recovery has highlighted the importance of integrating ESG analysis when analysing companies in the technology sector
    • How imminent IPOs of companies within the technology sector may help power a more sustainable future;
    • Emerging political hurdles around the US/China trade war and an anticipated wave of regulation
  • The implications of COVID-19 from a Multi-Asset perspective Recorded: Sep 10 2020 56 mins
    Paul O'Connor & Oliver Blackbourn
    The Q1 sell-off was all about the coronavirus outbreak — the Q2 market recovery was all about the policy response. In this live webcast hear from our Multi-Asset experts as they highlight the impact of COVID-19 and their current market outlook.
