About this talk

The global academic community has had an overwhelming response to the COVID-19 pandemic – racing to understand, cure and mitigate the virus. With thousands of scientists and health professionals actively connecting and collaborating to exchange data, the potential of data sharing in support of more efficient, and less fragmented research has never felt more powerful. Therefore, facilitating institutions to help researchers with research data management best practices, such as FAIR data and measuring their uptake is more important than ever. At PRCN 2019, we launched a new pilot integration that enables institutions to use the Mendeley Data Monitor to automatically track datasets by their researchers from thousands of repositories worldwide, and import the dataset metadata directly into Pure. Over the last six months, five institutions have been working with the Pure and Mendeley Data product teams to trial this integration, and have given candid feedback throughout the pilot on topics including the quality of the dataset corpus, as well as the integration options. During this session, representatives from two of the pilot institutions – Université de Namur in Belgium and Groningen University in the Netherlands – will present the outcomes of the pilot from their perspective. Mendeley Data and Pure Product Managers will also provide an update on exciting developments and the roadmap ahead.
